I have no idea when this was implemented but it was a great idea. Wow, I think Listia has actually been listening to us and trying to figure out solutions to our problems. So there's a 10 gift card listing limit per week. If you list small $1 amounts (like me, haha ) then you can only list 10 per week. (My flipping is limited unless I want to risk actually selling larger gift card amounts.) Relisted auctions have a relist limit of 10 times and you can only have 100 auctions running at any give time now. So all those people trying to rack up tons of auctions with no winner so they can get lots of those free XNK offers or move up the leaderboards will be limited. I think there have actually been quite a few people trying to take advantage of the free XNK you get for listing X amount of auctions. I'll admit I have listed extra auctions that I didn't feel like listing just to reach the 5 listings that day and score a couple of free XNK. Most of my auctions do sell though. If you check my profile you'll see that my ratio of listings sold to not sold is pretty decent compared to some others.

1246 out of 1300 listings of mine have actually sold. That's a 95.8% successful selling auction rate.
Listia used to want people to just list, list, list auctions no matter if those auctions were quality ones or not. Hence them creating a leaderboard where "# of auctions listed" was valued first and foremost. I understand that they needed to get the site off the ground and make it look like lots of things were being offered for sale. But now the site has more traction and needs to work on quality vs quantity. Maybe now they'll finally pay attention to the ones who create quality auctions and listen to them. They are the ones who can turn Listia around. I bet there are others like me who would offer better auctions but have no incentive because the marketplace is so volatile. I don't like listing auctions that are too valuable because I have no idea if the market can afford it. I never know if there will be enough bidders competing to bring the auction price up to where it should be. Holding on and saving your credits used to be a very risky thing. Inflation could come and take it all away. (I've actually lost money this way at one point when I took a break, came back and realized I'd let $25 of credits sit in my account and it was now worth 25 cents. For real. Dang. And I know others have way worse horror stories.) Now I think with all the changes I've seen, there will be some great improvements.
I know there were some buyers who were getting a free ride. Getting free XNK/credits and not having to actually list anything for sale. Your days are numbered! Haha, no offense though. There's nothing wrong with taking advantage of a good deal, right? But yeah Listia was adding cost to everyone's bottom line and causing at least a bit of inflation. So it's good the marketplace is adjusting and maturing with it's popularity. GG Listia.
