I am beginning the laborious process of creating bulk listings on Etsy. I'm pretty sure this is the link to my shop and listings: www.etsy.com/shop/natahoaI am willing to sell directly to YOU but NOT in small quantities. You can see what I have available if you look at my completed listings on Listia. Use the app to also see completed listings that did not sell. I also have ☄MANY items available that I never posted on Listia ☄ ... those will take me more time to photograph, etc. for Etsy. Such as bead strands, fancy rhinestone Euro charms and other higher-end items. I had really HOPED Ink would make Listia better and I could list more expensive items *sigh* If you are interested in, for example, ALL of my Red/Blue/Green/Clear (etc) color slide-on Euro charms, or ALL or my rhinestone charms, or a large quantity ALL of earring wires and/or headpins ... let me know. Or if you have a specific budget, such as $50, I will create a SMOKIN' deal for you. It has some pretty good reviews.
Seems like what LIstia plans to do with the InkPay app ...

Okay ... I set up one listing on Mercari.
I am, as always, natahoa if you want to find me.
They seem to have EXCELLENT rates on shipping ... better than the rates you could get using Listia's shipping label system (which I never used).
AND they will e-mail you the shipping label. You don't have to go to paypal, etc.
I'm going to try that for this first listing.
It is for my 8mm blue glass rondelle beads ... 10 strands of them.

I hope the treatments can help. I removed that listing from Mercari and will not use that app. Too many issues and they don't take paypal, only credit cards. No one gets my credit-card number ... No, those blue beads have tiny holes for stringing with beading wire. I have some blue Euro charms I can list, I haven't gotten to that yet. If you want a bunch, please let me know before I list them on etsy. Once I do that it is very difficult to sell off just SOME of them and change the listing. Two categories: euro charms for Pandora style jewelry, and beads and findings for traditional jewelry making. So far I'm not getting any activity on etsy. So I'm re-thinking my strategy there. I have a lot more to list but we have visitors coming for almost the entire month of April so I'm focused on that for the moment. |

I only have 11 bulk items listed so far, but I have a LOT more I can list. I know you used to sell on Ebay, have you tried on amazon? With monthly fee, they can sell it for you with shipping. I was going to sell on Amazon but I don't have any inventory to sell to even out with the monthly fees.

I was going to sell on Amazon but I don't have any inventory to sell to even out with the monthly fees *** I sold books on Amazon years ago when amazon was mostly books but it's very difficult to sell there. It's similar to Etsy in that lots of Chinese sellers will sell for less than cost. The Chinese government heavily subsidizes postage and other things that make it impossible for small, or even large, sellers to compete. And I believe amazon has a fairly difficult vetting process for sellers. So you can't just sign up like on eBay, Etsy, or Listia.
Sell for you with shipping? So you have to stock their warehouse with your product? I'm not sure how that works. When you sell on Amazon, at least when I did, the shipping function is built in so you use their shipping system.
Selling online has has become a very cutthroat business. Wherever you sell you have to have a very tight strategy on how you will both procure and sell your product.
I think your best option is probably eBay. But similar to Listia you pay fees for everything whether your product sells or not. So be sure you can sell something at a profit after fees. Research COMPLETED listings on eBay NOT asking prices. Learning what an item actually SELLS for (if it sells at all) is the key. That is how you can determine what you can sell your item for (or if you can sell it at all).
I sold antiques and collectibles on eBay. I bought them at auction where I based what I paid for those items on what recent eBay sellers had been able to get. This required several days of research before each auction. If I knew I couldn't double my money I dropped that auction item on the next bidder. 😏
Ebay has changed a lot since then. It was much more active for affordable antiques and collectibles. I sold on eBay from 2002-2007. That was before eBay shut down its contact system making it impossible to correspond with other buyers and sellers. The community vibe there died. It is now strictly a marketplace where the lowest price wins.
That was also before eBay operated in China. |
