Hi, cbrown. Yup, night time is the time I go out and howl. You?
Thanks for referring me to the Listia members link. Jeeze, am I stoopie, or what!
I thought the search would find members, and it does, but I also thought that
I had found that members button before, but couldn't find it now.
Thanks again. This forum is pretty darn cool, THANKS MIKE (where ever
you are).
I really admire natahoa's common sense and intellect. She and Mike were
the ones who got me all caught up in this, otherwise I'd just probably
have given up on any of it. Now with our forum, I'm learning so much
and getting tons of new ideas from our members. Thanks all. BTW, natahoa's
right on to return that webcam, and heck no don't upload an image of your
license! Besides, somehow I just don't think they're going to accept it
anyway.
Webcams can be turned on when your computer's off.
It's the IOT (Internet Of Things), yanno, like when
your microwave, or your dishwasher, or your fridge
are watching and listening to you 24/7. It's like
that. Latest news is Siri and Alexa are laughing,
did anybody see that?
www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zvjbYRrFlMSo weird, so eerily threatening. To quote one comment as follows:
"Seriously, when you REALLY think about it, the only
reason this system can understand every time you speak,
is that the recording is ALWAYS ON. If it was not, the
system could not know where you start speaking."
There are many issues with AI and IOT that have yet to be
discovered, let alone worked out. FCOL governments have yet
to make laws that regulate the internet, they're just so
ignorant that they can't legislate and get it under control
Think of AM radio, which isn't even 100 years old yet, the
FCC was established not too long after that to regulate and
control broadcasting as well as newspapers and print media.
FCC did some good work with that, but since the advent of the
WWW only some 25 years ago, they've failed, balked, and been
lobbied away from doing the right thing with the Web.
Back to webcams, I have one, I used to use it not so much now.
And, it's unplugged. I plug it in if I have to show somebody
something, otherwise, unpluggedness is how we roll. I have an
old car, 2006 model, and I'd like to get a newer model, but
much past '08 models, and jeeze, they've got monitors on the
dashboard...I mean do we really want vid games on our dashboards
while driving at 70MPH? Really?
I got, I GOT to SHUT UP!
